Evidence Based Planning & Monitoring of MKUZA

The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar is currently implementing MKUZA II, which builds on MKUZA I and the other predecessor strategies, to achieve the Zanzibar Development Vision 2020 and MDGs’ aspirations. Successful implementation of MKUZA II requires an effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system to track the implementation of policies, programs and projects.

The inadequate reporting of the development status, weak accounting for aid disbursements and challenges faced to account for the programme and project results during implementation throughout ministries is currently becoming more and more apparent. The development and institutionalization of monitoring and evaluation systems and tools is seen as a major step towards remedy

  • The purpose of this project is to address these challenges to support and develop the operation of M&E activities throughout the sector and national level within the government of Zanzibar.
