Strengthening Climate Change Governance in Zanzibar
The impacts of climate change in Zanzibar are already evidenced in some areas for key sectors over a period of the last decade. This includes water, forest, agriculture and energy sectors. The combined effects of current climate vulnerability and projected future climate change are expected to be large enough to prevent Zanzibar from achieving key economic growth, human development and poverty reduction targets. The key problem is that Zanzibar is not adequately prepared in adressing the ongoing and future climate change impacts.
