Catalyzing Agricultural Development in Tanzania - Agricultural Delivery Division (ADD)

Summary

Official Signing of the project document for catalysing agriculture development

The overall aim of this programme is to transform the agricultural sector to increase productivity and income of poor farmers, enhance commercialization, creating job opportunities for the unemployed and improving livelihoods for millions of smallholder farmers, particularly women and youth.

The ADD will address constraints in (i) national policy setting as the nerve centre for evidence-based policy formulation and advisory services, (ii) regional and local implementation, and foundational value chains and markets through technical backstopping and performance management, (iii) addressing underlying gaps in capacity and accountability through an outcome based approach and a results-oriented mindset. The initial stages of the project will focus on strengthening maize and rice value chains
