The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Friday launched its flagship Global Human Development Report for 2015 in Tanzania. Titled ‘Work for Human Development’ the report, taking a broader view of work, examines linkages between work and human development and explores changes between job security, flexibility and demand for skills as well as issues of paid and unpaid work, including care, voluntary, creative and sustainable work.

On February 9-10, two UNDP officials including Awa Dabo, Country Director for Tanzania together with a government delegation attended the second Solutions Alliance Roundtable that was held in Brussels, Belgium. The roundtable is an inclusive forum acting as a catalyst for mobilising development and humanitarian actors to provide durable solutions for the growing numbers of refugees and internally displaced people.

UNDP hosted a partners’ consultation on 10-11 December attended by 100 Tanzanian government, donor countries, UN agencies, ADB and the WB, civil society and private sector representatives. The objective was to discuss and refine UNDP’s proposed strategy and approach for its next five-year Country Programme, as envisaged in its new Country Programme Document (CPD) 2016-2021, developed in alignment with national development priorities, the United Nations Development Assistance Plan 2016-2021 (UNDAP II) and UNDP’s global Strategic Plan (2014/17).
