Primary objective :
The aim of this Project is to ensure that the Selous-Niassa Wildlife Corridor is effectively conserved, with the establishment of a network of village Wildlife Management Areas that are protected, managed and utilised sustainably by the local communities with the assistance of the Local Government and Wildlife Division.

Outcomes:
The Project is expected to achieve  the following outcomes:
1. Communities, local and district authorities use greater awareness and capacity for conservation of biodiversity and natural resources within the corridor.
2. Improved information data bases on ecological and socio economic issues of the corridor lead to informed decision making for communities and local authorities.
3. A network of WMAs managed effectively to provide sustainable conservation.
4. Communities, local and district authorities provide increased support to Sasawara Forest Reserve leading to improved conservation.
5. Best practice from corridor WMAs documented and disseminated leading to improved policy implementation nationally.
