Ms. Christine Musisi, UNDP Tanzania Resident Representative

On 2 September 2019, Ms. Christine Musisi officially assumed her position as United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative to the United Republic of Tanzania. 

Ms. Musisi brings to the position moe than 23 years of leadership and experience in the development arena. She has served the United Nations in different capacities and in various countries at national, regional and global levels.

She recently completed three and a half years at UN-Habitat as Director of the External Relations Division, responsible for global Partnerships, Communications and Advocacy, UN inter-agency and inter-governmental affairs. 

From 2012-2016, Ms. Musisi served as UN Women's Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa and Representative for Kenya. Prior to that she has held other senior positions including Deputy Country Director for UNDP Ethiopia, Deputy Head of the policy and Technical Cluster and Policy Advisor at the UNDP Regional Service Centre for Eastern and Southern Africa; Policy and Technical Advisor for UNDP in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Ms. Musisi has led innovatives in Local Economic Development, Democratic Governance, Poverty Reduction, Social Mobilisation, Civil Society Empowerment; Gender and Development; Business and Private Sector Engagement and Development Financing.
